I’ve been working on a project called whirlwire.com since November last year, in short it’s a similar application to snapsort.com but different in a few major ways. One of the main differences it has from all of those other electronics comparison websites is that you get to decide which camera to buy instead of what the editor says you should buy.
You’re able to search the index with the requirements you actually want.. example for a camera search using the filtering system with the following requirements more than 20 megapixel, 5 or more FPS, greater than 500 shots per charge (CIPA), image stabilisation, screen size greater than 3.0 etc. You can have up to 50 different specifications along side the latest prices from a number of popular online stores. Prices and the exchange rates on all electronics are updated daily and with reviews from a number sources so I do my best to provide unbiased content.
I feel what I have created is a powerful and useful tool for anyone whether someone is looking at buying an entry level camera or a pro wanting to dip into another brand. With the power to compare as many products that fit on the page is makes things easier and quicker to make up your mind.
Head over and check it out.
